Penultimul film din seria „Fast and Furious” va ajunge în cinematografe pe 7 aprilie 2023, conform publicației Hollywood Reporter. Cel de-al 10-lea film al francizei de acțiune marca Universal este penultimul din saga extrem de longevivă.

Justin Lin va regiza filmele 10 și 11 din franciza Fast, care vor reprezenta, practic, concluzia filmelor de bază. Lin a regizat cinci filme „Fast and Furious”, începând cu „The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift”. Chris Morgan se întoarce în postura de scenarist.

Vin Diesel și obișnuiți ai francizei precum Sung Kang, Chris Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Nathalie Emmanuel și Michelle Rodriguez sunt așteptați să revină. Scena de la mijlocul creditelor din F9 a sugerat că personajul lui Jason Statham va juca și el un rol important în film.

Franciza „Fast and Furious”, care a început în 2001, a câștigat 6,3 miliarde de dolari la nivel global, în această cifră fiind inclus și  spin-off-ul „Hobbs & Shaw”, din 2019. Cel mai recent film al seriei de bază, F9, regizat de Lin, din 2021, a încasat 681 de milioane de dolari în întreaga lume, în pofida pandemiei COVID-19 care a avut un impact negativ major asupra industriei filmului la nivel mondial.

Încă de la debutul din cinematografe în 2001, franciza „Fast and Furious” s-a transformat în seria de filme cu cele mai mari încasări din toate timpurile ale studiourilor Universal, depășind chiar și „Jurassic Park”.
