Creatorii „Better Call Saul” spun că nu au planuri pentru un alt spinoff „Breaking Bad”

Los Angeles, CA - Breaking Bad Walt and Jesse return to TV screens for the final season of Better Call Saul. It’s been six seasons in the making, but the event Breaking Bad fans have hoped for has finally happened. After series creator Vince Gilligan teased their appearance, Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) finally appeared in Better Call Saul. As with practically all elements in this show, what could have been a throwaway episode emerges as a masterclass in how to satisfyingly use guest stars in storytelling. It’s fitting that the episode that sees the return of Walt) and Jesse (would be titled Breaking Bad. Back in 2009, the Season 2 episode that first introduced the world to Saul Goodman was named Better Call Saul. And this Better Call Saul episode was largely a retelling of Jimmy’s (Bob Odenkirk) first moments in Breaking Bad. While in the future Gene orchestrates a plan with his new cab buddy, Jimmy reflects on how he first met Walt and Jesse. Fans all remember how Walt and Jesse tried to threaten Saul into saving Badger (Matt Jones) by showing him his own grave. But fans didn’t see the moments of blind terror when Jimmy was in the back of the meth mobile – which is what this episode featured. That scene in particular managed to wrap up one of Better Call Saul‘s bigger mysteries. After bickering with Walt like he’s been married to the man for four decades, Jesse turns his attention to Jimmy and asks him who Lalo is. When Jimmy feigns ignorance, Jesse presses him, recalling how scared Jimmy seemed when he thought that he was being taken by someone named Lalo. That’s when Jimmy successfully brushes him off, saying: “It’s nobody.” Ever since Jimmy first screamed that name in Breaking Bad’s second season, fans have wondered about Lalo Salamanca (Tony Dalton). Now fans have seen the full cycle of their relationship, Jimmy’s fear and the way he dismisses the name hits even harder. Though fans have no idea how this saga will wrap up for Jimmy, they do know how it concluded for Walt and Jesse. The 2008 drama famously ended with the Walt bleeding out from a gunshot wound as police arrived on the scene and Badfinger’s Baby Blue played. Pe 15 august, AMC va difuza în premieră unul dintre cele mai așteptate episoade de televiziune din 2022: finalul serialului „Better Call Saul”. Spinoff-ul în șase sezoane pentru drama de succes „Breaking Bad” a fost creat de către Peter Gould și Vince Gilligan.

La turneul de presă de vară din 2022 al Asociației Criticilor de Televiziune, Gould și Gilligan au spus că nu vor să exagereze cu universul acestor seriale, dar nu au negat cu totul posibilitatea unei alte povești înrudite.

„Metaforele de tip Las Vegas sunt probabil o greșeală, dar pur și simplu nu poți continua să-ți pui toți banii pe 21 roșu iar și iar”, a spus Gilligan. „Probabil ne-am împins limitele făcând un spinoff al lui „Breaking Bad”. Nu aș putea fi mai mulțumit de rezultate, apoi am făcut „El Camino” [un film sequel „Breaking Bad”] și sunt foarte mândru de asta, dar… mai bine știi când să pleci de la petrecere.”

„Deci nu am niciun plan acum să fac ceva mai mult în acest univers”, a continuat el, înainte de a adăuga: „Știu că am fost întrebat la sfârșitul lui ‘Breaking Bad’ și am dat același răspuns. Trebuie să-mi demonstrez că nu sunt un ponei cu un singur truc. Îmi place să lucrez cu acești oameni – vreau să țin trupa împreună indiferent de ce se va întâmpla, dar cu un univers diferit.”

Gould a fost de acord, deși a părut puțin mai deschis să facă un alt proiect în lumea „Breaking Bad”.

Durata totală de rulare a ambelor seriale și a filmului este „mult timp, o investiție mare de cerut de la public”, a spus Gould. „Nu aș putea fi mai fericit și mai mândru de munca noastră, dar ca și Vince, cred că mai sunt și alte lucruri pe care vreau să le încerc. Acestea fiind spuse, iubesc Albuquerque. Îl iubesc pe Bob [Odenkirk]. O iubesc pe Rhea [Seehorn]. Îl iubesc pe Vince [Gilligan]. Așa că vom păstra cât mai mult din trupă împreună și, de asemenea, să nu spunem niciodată  „niciodată”. Cine știe cum ne vom simți peste câțiva ani?”
